The short answer

Our private airport transfer costs Rs 3,000 per car, one way anywhere in Mauritius, for up to three passengers. Larger groups use the vehicle fares below. For other journeys, enter your route for a price. The separate ATOL table is an airport taxi association reference, not our booking tariff.

VanUp to 8 passengersRs 4,200

Prices are per vehicle, not per passenger. Child seats, accessibility arrangements and oversized luggage need confirmation. Extra stops and retained driver time are separate arrangements.

A useful starting point for airport fares

ATOL, the airport terminal operator, publishes the Airport Taxi Owners Association fare list effective January 2026. The selected destinations below come from that document. They describe airport taxi reference fares, not Taxi Mauritius booking prices or a universal tariff for every taxi on the island.

Use the reference to ask a better question. State your destination, passengers, bags and arrival time, then ask for the complete fare and any conditions. Check the current document before travelling; a saved screenshot can outlive the rate it shows.

Compare the whole journey

A price only becomes useful when you know what it buys. A small car for two people is different from a van carrying a family, a pushchair and several suitcases. A one-way ride is different from a driver staying with you while you visit an attraction.

Ask whether the amount is per vehicle or per passenger, and whether taxes, parking, waiting and luggage are included. If you are comparing quotes in different currencies, keep the original quoted currency alongside your own conversion. Your card provider may use a different exchange rate.

  • Exact pickup and destination, including the hotel entrance
  • Date, local time and flight number where relevant
  • Everyone travelling, including children
  • Suitcases, pushchair and oversized equipment
  • One-way, return, or a driver retained between stops
  • Total currency, payment method and cancellation conditions

Know which extras to ask about

The airport reference document describes conditions for late-night travel, waiting and unusual luggage. Those conditions belong to that service. A separately arranged transfer may use different terms, so do not assume that one operator’s surcharge applies to another.

Stops can change the service you need. Picking up another family, stopping for groceries or waiting through lunch is not the same as travelling directly to your hotel. Describe those plans before accepting a fare. For a return, agree the second pickup time and location rather than assuming a driver waits all day.

A driver for the day is a different quote

For sightseeing, compare an agreed day itinerary with the cost and practicality of separate rides. The retained-driver quote should state the hours, the route, how waiting works and what happens if you finish later. Attraction tickets and guiding should be named explicitly if included.

A cheap day rate without a clear finish time can be difficult to compare. Build your quote around the places you actually want to visit, the start and finish point, and how long you want at each stop.

How prices work on Taxi Mauritius

Enter your route, date and group in the booking form. Taxi Mauritius uses Andeor’s Seke transfer pricing. When an agreed fare is available, you can review the total and continue to Andeor checkout. The fare is for the journey and group shown, so changing either means checking again.

When a journey needs review, the site asks for a quote instead of making up a price from the distance. A submitted quote request is not a confirmed booking. Wait for the written offer and its conditions before relying on the ride.

Your questions, answered.

Are taxi fares in Mauritius per person or per car?

That depends on the service quoted. Ask for the total for your whole group and vehicle. The Taxi Mauritius booking form shows a journey total for the passengers entered; do not multiply it by your passenger count.

Is the airport fare table the price I pay on this site?

No. It is a dated airport association reference published by ATOL. Your Taxi Mauritius price comes from the booking form and the conditions shown for that journey.

Can I calculate a fare simply from the kilometres?

Distance alone does not establish a bookable fare. Vehicle size, the route, waiting and whether a driver returns or remains with you all matter. Use an actual route quote.
