Arrange the arrival you actually need
For arrivals, enter your flight number, landing date and local landing time. We suggest pickup 45 minutes after landing, and you can change it. This is a planning allowance, not a guarantee of how long immigration or baggage collection will take.
An airport transfer starts with the correct arrival date in Mauritius. An overnight flight may leave your home country on one day and land the next. Use the date and local scheduled arrival time shown for MRU, with the flight number and the full accommodation address.
Tell the team about each passenger and all your luggage. A vehicle with enough seats may still need a different luggage arrangement for surfboards, a pushchair or unusually large suitcases. Request child seats or accessibility arrangements explicitly, then wait for confirmation of the exact equipment.

Find the right meeting point
For a pre-booked transfer, follow the meeting instructions in your booking confirmation. Ask where the driver will wait, what name or sign to look for, and which number to call if you cannot find one another. The public airport taxi counter is not automatically the meeting point for a private booking.
For an airport taxi arranged after landing, ATOL places the service counter on Level 0 in the Tour Operators Hall opposite the customs exit. Confirm the total fare and destination with the service before departing. Keep the written details of your arrangement accessible on your phone.
Make a plan for a delayed flight
A flight number helps identify your service, but it does not by itself promise unlimited waiting or automatic rescheduling. Check the transfer’s flight-monitoring policy, included waiting time and what happens if immigration or baggage collection takes longer than expected.
If your airline changes the flight number, arrival airport, date or connection, tell the booking team. A live flight board is useful information; your accepted transfer confirmation determines the actual arrangements. Keep a copy of the support number available offline.
Book the departure as carefully as the arrival
For a departure, provide the scheduled flight time and your accommodation. Choose your pickup date and time in the booking form, separately from your flight details. Book at least two hours before pickup and allow enough time for the journey and your airline’s check-in requirements. Flight departure time is not hotel pickup time.
Allow for the time of day and your route rather than using a fixed island-wide driving allowance. A short line on a map does not capture every road, collection stop or traffic condition. Your airline’s check-in requirements and any assistance arrangements should guide the plan.
Pre-booked transfer or taxi on arrival?
Pre-booking suits travellers who want their vehicle requirements and destination discussed in advance, especially families or larger groups. An airport taxi can suit someone comfortable arranging the journey after landing. Compare the complete terms, not just a headline amount.

Is the airport transfer fare the same anywhere in Mauritius?
Yes. A standard private car is Rs 3,000 one way between MRU airport and your destination in Mauritius, for up to three passengers. Larger groups use the larger-vehicle tariff. Enter luggage and special requirements before booking.
How far ahead should I book?
Book at least two hours before your actual pickup time in Mauritius. The two-hour rule applies to pickup, not to your flight departure. If you need a sooner journey, contact the team to discuss your options.
When is my airport transfer confirmed?
A priced ride is confirmed after successful payment. Your driver is assigned separately. Your private ride screen shows the driver and meeting details when the team adds them.
Where is the taxi counter at Mauritius airport?
ATOL lists it on Level 0, in the Tour Operators Hall opposite the customs exit at arrivals. A pre-booked private transfer may use a different meeting point, stated in your confirmation.
Should I enter landing time or pickup time?
For arrivals, enter the flight date and local landing time. We suggest pickup 45 minutes later and you can change it. For departures, choose your accommodation pickup separately, allowing time for the drive and airline check-in. The two-hour booking notice always uses the actual pickup time.
Is a child seat automatically included?
Do not assume it is. Provide the child’s age and the seat required, and ask for written confirmation before booking. Passenger capacity does not prove child-seat availability.
